This morning we had a special visit from Wendy with Inside Education. She taught us about air quality and we had the chance to go outside and use Air Beam devices to test the quality of the air around our school. She mapped our results and as you can see today we had good air quality all around the building:)
Constable Mattice and Constable Baker came in to talk us
this afternoon. They talked to us about the things we have to keep us safe. We learned
that we have everyday tools, things you need to be prepared for success, tools
for communication that help you tell others where you are to keep you safe, tools
for remembering like taking notes to remember things. Some tools have rules like
scissors, and some tools require you to act with more responsibility. We
practice keeping ourselves safe by doing fire drills and making evacuation
plans in the case of emergency. We were reminded that we all have the
responsibility to keep our community safe. To do this we need to listen to our
hearts.

Guiding questions parents can use tonight to help discuss what we learned today:
- What happened in the story you read?
- What did the story make you think about?
- What did the feathers in the story represent?
- What should you do if you hear a rumor?
- What did you put on your apples? Why?
- Who can help you when you ask?
- What can you do to navigate friendships when issues arise?
